Forget about just making money online, when you are dealing with anything that has to do with some sort of income we all would like to make money right now; however, the desire to experience satisfaction now might hinder that feeling a couple months down the road.

With any business, revenue is usually generated in an exponential format… meaning your money grows exponentially over time. While you make a couple cents in the first month, the next month could bring a couple dollars, followed by a couple hundred, and so on. The ability to see passed the rough patch and keep you eye on the end goal is what separates successful ventures from fallen one.

Learn How To Run A Successful Website Through Case Studies

When I was a kid in school I always wondered what was the point of taking a history class. It is in the past, it is ancient, and it is old, so why waste our time, right? As I grew older, I didn’t necessarily find the actual stuff we learned in history useful, but rather the importace of utilizing history in business.

By looking at our past history, we can see what businesses have done to be successful and what leads to failure. With this rather invaluable information, it should jump start our own venture because we have already had people make the mistakes we can avoid.

See what successful sites are doing.

Update Your Old Products

Probably the number one way to make money online is the ability to create and sell your product. Not only are you in full control of the product, but you also get to keep how ever much profit per product you decide.

Too many times, people create products, sell them, and then forget about them. Unless your product has some sort of expiration date when it just won’t be useful anymore, then why not clean off the cobwebs and market it again?

By updating your products, yourself are also giving you another chance to remind or inform people about your products. At the same time, you are improving the value of your current customers, so they will be more likely to buy any of your future products.

How To Form Your Own LLC

Several blogs start and die everyday. Due to the very low barrier of entry, often times people don’t treat their online entity as a real business, end up not making money, and eventually let the entity die a slow painful death.

It is one thing to treat your online work has a real business, but it is another one to actually make it a legal one. Obviously, I am talking about incorporating your business, with the most popular and probably easiest form being a Limited Liability Company (LLC).

There are many various reasons why somebody would want to incorporate their business. A few include…

  • Protect your personal assets. Setting up your business as a separate entity will protect creditors, lenders, or anybody who would want to come after you (legally).
  • Continuity. If you have multiple partners or state powers in your will, a corporation can continue to go on with business.
  • Access to money. Everybody already knows incorporating your business will help you look more legit, but it will also help you should you decide to find investors and other type of investment into your business. You also can’t get an your Employee Identification Number (business version of social security number) banks need to open business accounts and get business loans.
  • Tax benefits. There are many tax benefits and loopholes available to small businesses, and incorporating allows you to take advantage of them.

3 Ways to Turn Blogging into Money

Ever since sites like JohnChow.com and Problogger.net have come out everybody is giving their best shot at trying to make money through blogging. While blogging alone is pretty straightforward, a lack of an actual sound business plan won’t necessarily result in money rolling in.

The idea behind passive income is that you setup a system, eventually it should run by itself (or very little maintenance), and experience some sort of income. Many people look at blogging as a source of passive income because you are constantly creating new pages trough articles and people can visit it 24/7.

While blogging is a way to derive a passive income, unless you add some sort of twist to it, it won’t bring in the big bucks you crave.

Why Most People Fail Turning Blogging into a Passive Income

Lack of solid business plan – It is as simple as that. Probably the most used advice I have come across is to blog about something you are interested in and eventually the money will come through. Sorry, but that is completely wrong and a utter waste of your time.

I love to workout. While my goal is to build muscle, if I just keep working out without any actual plan, odds are that I will either over work a part of the body or take 10x longer to get bigger than had I created a plan.

Ways to Turn Blogging into a Passive Income

  • Create a product/service
  • Create membership content
  • Create an affiliate blog

Create a product/service – While using fixed ads or other affiliate programs can definitely bring in some sort of revenue, a less risky and higher return of investment will come from any services or products you have created. Take a look at some of the popular blogs in your niche. You are more than likely going to see some ebook, training package, or other type of service/product that users must pay for.

Besides just making money from these products, if a user trusted you enough to buy your product, then they will probably all become more dedicated to your blog.

Create membership content - Slightly harder than creating a product/service because with a membership program you are required to constantly update content. A good way around this is to perhaps make some of your blog articles only available to members or create some type of premium message board.

Create an affiliate blog - Most people think about blogs as personal thoughts. For example, what you may think of the stock market, why a particular television show was terrible, and so on. While this is not always a bad thing today, unless you have massive traffic, it may not lead to the best income.

An affiliate blog allows you to review certain items and then have some type of affiliate links sprinkled somewhere around. A good example here would be a golf club blog. Each blog posting should be a review of a certain club or even a “how to.” Obviously if your reviews are enticing and even gain some good search traffic, then you should be able to capture the money of these users. With the use of cleverly placed affiliate links, you can act like the products you are selling are from your site.

Bottom Line: Before you go throwing a blog up and hoping to make some passive income, remember that a sound plan needs to be setup before anything can really become passive. Unless you are getting million of page views a day, blogging alone won’t get the passive income your desire.
